ESA's Activities

ESA’s mission is to assure the effective protection of intellectual property rights relating to plants and seeds, fair and proportionate regulation of the European seed industry and freedom of choice for its customers (farmers, growers, industry, consumers). In doing so, it represents the European seed industry via the European institutions and their representatives, i.e. the European Parliament, the Council, the Commission and the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO), as well as towards other industry associations, NGOs, the international press and the wider interested public. ESA’s main activities relate to the timely and competent information of its membership, to serve as a dialogue platform for the entire industry and towards other interested parties, and to actively reach out, advocate and lobby for the interests of the seed sector on the base of commonly agreed policy positions and strategies.
